Swimming with Giants
A5 & A4 Fine Art Print with matt board.
A3 & A2 Giclee Print.

There are few experiences that leave you feeling as small, humbled and alive as sharing the ocean with a whale shark.
This artwork was inspired by one of the most unforgettable experiences the Ningaloo Reef is known for—slipping into the water and finding yourself swimming alongside the largest fish in the world. Whether it’s your first encounter or your tenth, the feeling never really changes. Time seems to slow as this gentle giant glides effortlessly through the blue, completely unaware of the impact it leaves on those lucky enough to witness it.
The shafts of light filtering through the water, the endless blue below and the quiet wonder of the moment are what I wanted to capture in this painting. Not just the whale shark itself, but the feeling of being there—the excitement before entering the water, the rush of spotting those unmistakable white dots beneath the surface, and the awe that follows.
More than a painting of a whale shark, this artwork is about preserving a memory. A reminder of adventure, connection and the privilege of sharing the ocean with one of nature’s most extraordinary creatures.
For many people, swimming with a whale shark becomes a defining moment of their time on Ningaloo Reef—a story told for years afterwards and a memory carried forever. My hope is that this piece allows you to hold onto that feeling long after you’ve dried off and returned to shore.
Original hand-painted watercolour artwork inspired by the unforgettable moments, wildlife and memories of Ningaloo Reef. 💙🐋🦈
